USA today wrote a story about it. Bloggers are talking about it. I am refuting it.
Momnesia - the mental fuzziness and memory lapses that set in shortly after childbirth.
Here is an example:
Your spouse is going to watch the kids so you can enjoy a couple of hours by yourself. You go into the garage, get into your car and back your car right into the garage door that you forgot to open.
Momnesia?
No.
The driver of the car is a stay-at-home dad.
The act of being a parent sucks your brain power and causes you do seemingly stupid things. This “condition” is not exclusive to moms. Any person who spends 90% of their time with little people is susceptible.
Let’s call it was it really is – Parentdumtitis.

*tear*
LOL! Have a great weekend!
I'm definitely rocking the parentdumbitus.
Yeah, I know what this feels like, but come on, anyone who worked a 24 hour shift with an unpredictable boss whose demands for nonstop and immediate attention would lose their train of thought at times, right? :)
SO TRUE! And, truth be told, I actually backed in to the garage door when my husband and I were engaged - so I can't blame it on having kids!
True story (but it was like 4am when I did it - does that make it any better?)
Touche.
You said it all here girlfriend!
that's great! i'm going to use that the next time I'm late for work!

or...parentarditis...or, mindgoneblankus. it's NOT just us mommies...you are sooooo right on!!
Right on! I'm definitely a sufferer.
Love It!!
Thanks for the call. It made my night. Hope you had an awesome date.
I've got it bad. So does hubby actually. We are so in trouble.
parentdumbitus.. I LOVE IT.. LOL
I'm glad to know my condition has a name! Haha!
I think my "momitis" comes from me banging my head against the wall, over and over again, after listening to the Handy Manny song, one million too many times.
Yep...got it!
LOL!!!!
Nice one, Amy!
I think you're probably right! I think it's just called "mom" is because it's usually the mom who is home mostly with the kids.
Yeah, this momnesia thing bugged me too. Usually it's the dad who gets the bad rep.
I'm so with you! Sometimes I think dads get a bad wrap in the parenting department. I know Hubby is on 100% when he's home, and should get credit for it - even if it's just for saying dumb things & such :)
HA Ha HA!! I call it mommy brain :-)
But really, yes parentdumbitus is brilliant.
You're so clever. Sorry I've been so absent. It's been hectic.
You crack me up Amy! *Grin*
