Bikini Wars

I've been running. I've been watching what I eat. Next month I am spending a week in Mexico with my wonderful husband of 11 years. It is time to evaluate my swim suit situation and Fight the Frump.

Help me out. In the comments please discuss butt cheeks and price.
Be honest, I can take it.

i would KILL for your body...ok not kill but i would give up chocolate forever...ok not forever, but i would seriously do something serious (besides exercise, i mean let's not get crazy) for your body!

you look A-MAZ-ING!

truth.

oh and honestly...if a bikini looked that good on ME i would be willing to spend my life savings on it...ok not my WHOLE life savings, but a good portion.

ok...back to my chocolate.

Just say no to butt cheeks! You don't want to be picking a wedgie the entire time, and I frankly don't enjoy seeing other people's butt cheeks.

As far as price, I usually cap my swimsuit budget at $100. But I make sure I get several seasons out of it.

I think that both suits look great on you. And although I am usually one to purchase things out of season to save $, that is simply not possible with swim suits. All the cute ones are gone later in the season, and you have to invest to get a good fit. I think that you look fabulous in both of those suits (even from the back). They are keepers!!! In fact I want to know where you purchased the blk/ wht one.

With a body like that after babies, girl, do whatever you want to. The day I can go buy a bikini and look like that, I will be jumping, whooping and hollering. The red one is more Jessica Biel-ish- in a good way! The other one is cute but is more the mom look with the flap,I think - but what do I know!

Honestly, I love the navy and white. The bottoms are great! I think to get a good suit you have to pay the price and for a vacation with your husband go for it.

If I had your butt I would let the world see!

I think both suits are great AND worth the investment. There is no time more important to feel like you look great than when you are in your bikini.

The red suit looks fantastic, I'd never think you had children! The skirted suit is also great but a little more conservative. I'm a big fan of Tommy Bahama, too. :)

I'm sorry, but are you kidding? Is there really a muffin top there? I had to squint to see it. You are a skinny minny and can pull off any of those suits, the old or the new. You look incredible.

I run too and, sort of watch what I eat, but there is NO way I could wear any bikini whatsoever.

Sorry, I am not helping you, honestly, I just can't choose!

Well, at least you have motivated me to go to the Y this morning!

I really like the red and white one. But, the question is- Which one are you more comfortable in? You look great in both.

First of all you rock! I have had to dispose of the pre-baby bikinis. I love, love, love the skirt bikini...even though it is frighteningly expensive. You can definitely do either, but I love the skirt one.

That's a post-baby body?!!! God bless you, mama! No frump here!

Yes, good suits are always worth the investment, especially if you are going to be spending that much time in beachland. Yes, yes, yes.

Butt cheeks... hmm... if you've got em like that, flaunt em!

Good grief, you look fabulous. If I had a body like that, I would so be justified spending that for a bathing suit. Keep them.

For a second there, I thought you were saying you and Jessica Biel have the same red pokey dot bikini.

I actually think they are both very cute. And also: wow!

Nice bathing suits that fit right are a lot of money. Paying that much for vacation suits is reasonable.

:o)

Dude. I am so jealous right now I could cry. First a vacation AND a fab body. YOu look great. You need to do a post about diet and exercise and get me motivated for boating season.

I love the red and white. And if you have a pretty bum...show it off.

Holy Hottie, Batman! You look fabulous in the new get ups!

You were right to jettison the old ones. Those boy shorts don't flatter right now. On the other hand, the red-and-white number is smashing. Seriously. And if my botty looked like your booty, I'd be letting it hang provocatively out of the lower edge of my swim suit every day. Even running errands at the bank.

I frankly think that the blue skirted one looks fine -- much nicer on your body than the old suits -- but it's "not all that" in comparison to the red and white one. And if it were me, and those were my pricetags, I'd just return the skirted one and prance around as the hottest mama in four counties in the red one.

My two cents...

PS How often and how far do you run? I've been thinking of getting back into running as soon as the snow is all gone, and now I'm thoroughly inspired to do so.

Good Lord, woman. You are smokin hot. Seriously!!!!

WOW! If I looked that good in a bathing suit, I would wear one every day! I thought the old ones looked pretty good, but the new ones are even better!

As for butt cheeks - it looks fine, but it's realy just a matter of your comfort - 'cause walking around yanking on your bathing suit bottom all week is not fun.

You go girl!!

I think they are totally worth the investment because you look amazing in them!!

Your hard work should be rewarded!

Have a wonderful vacation!

lattemommy said...

Um... wow! You look amazing!!! I'm so envious of that post-baby bod - it's way better than my pre-baby one ever was!! You should be so proud!

I'm totally loving the red suit - little bit o' butt cheek and all. I don't really like the one with the skirt - I don't think it's as flattering. And, the price is right! Go for the red one. My two cents.

I tried to avoid coming here (ROFL) cuz I didn't wanna face up to my own non-ready for swimwear ready.

Thanks for the "cringe" and the reminder to put down the FORK! =)

I am trying not to hate you (looking down at my gargantuan 8.32 month along baby belly and the butt that comes along with it). My bikini days are OVER.
But, I love the red/white one.
Give your hubby a fashion show tonight and see what one HE prefers! (without seeing the prices)

Ok, I dont normally say this to women, that I have just met, but your butt looks great. I would kill to have my butt look that good. OK maybe not kill, but seriously harm. Love both bikinis and if you feel good in them then I say go for it no matter the price.

Dadgum knee hurting me, I am gonna go run through the pain. Swimsuits here I come.

I have a serious problem with overpriced swimsuits . . . but for a vacation to Mexico? Go for it. Also, you my dear, are the embodiment of HAWTNESS!!! I like the red and white one, but they both look FANTABULOUS.

Lisa said...

I would do about anything to look as good as you do in a swimsuit. Seriously, I would wear BOTH suits with pride if I were you.
Back to the package of thin mints that are calling my name ;)

AEH said...

Ok, I'm 30 and have never had a baby and I wish I had your tummy and legs so..yeah.

You look great in both. The butt checks thing - I think that depends on your comfort level.

Hello Hottie! WOW! You look amazing! I like the red one, especially if you are going on a vacay with the hubs. The skirted one is cute as well but that's one I would wear to the pool while I'm with the kids. You are going to Mexico, you must be hot, hot, hot!

Unknown said...

You look F to the ABULOUS!!!

I love the Roxy, I'm a Roxy girl myself. Plus red is waaaay sexier than blue, IMO! You go, girlie!

RED STRIPES...RED STRIPES!!!!!

You're ass looks great, don't hide it away. And your belly...man alive it's taunt!

You go girl!

I just got me a Total Gym and some new free weights...bikini body here I come!

I vote for the red one. They both look good, but it's cheaper.

Okay...your loving sister Amy Here.... First I have to agree with Irene, Muffin Top?? I remember your ORIGINAL muffin top when you only showed it in the motel room before my wedding (Remember those days??? 50+ lbs earlier???) There are NO muffins in that picture... Second. I LOVE the navy/white suit. It was a hard decision because you do look so great in both (In July I am going to post my body boldly before the marathon (when I am 50 LBS lighter!!! )) Anyway... the navy/white suit leaves something to the imagination, Jeff should like that?! Maybe you will come back from Mexico with un chico pequeño (a baby boy) on board!!!

Both look great and you look fabulous! So...which one do you want the girls to copy when they have your body?

Amy said...

anonymous - That is an interesting question. First of all I hope that I can teach my girls healthy eating habits and the value of exercise so they can enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle. I don't think a fit body comes easy, it definitely doesn't for me. That being said, I hope they have the self assurance to pick the red one and wear it with pride.

The nore expensive one is a little more modest so I lean toward that one. But which one are you most comfortable in? I would love to have a body even half like that!

Anonymous said...

I think your roxy one is cute!

Stephanie said...

Ok...you're nuts. You look just as good as always..better even. Stop it already. You look GREAT. G-R-E-A-T
Just go and have fun.
I'm off to eat cupcakes now ;)
Now THOSE will give you muffin tops!

Ma'am, next time you wanna put up enticing, high-quality, easily mistaken as bikini-modelled online bikini ecommerce sites, female anatomy pics like that, please do post a warning message first.

I had to oops-quickly close the window, turn the laptop away, close the lid, look over my shoulder did-Wife-see-that reflex akin to a teenager discovering, err, the internet!

Otherwise, to re-overstate the obvious again once more- LOOKING GOOD!

ie, I don't care which bikini!

Hey it's Amy Benson said...

You look great first of all! I like your new bikinis. I have recently purchase several suits that have a skirty bottom & I love them! No more tugging at the edge trying to cover my bum. The red one looks fab on you too!

louann said...

You have a great body. You are an inspiration! LOL

I think both suits look cute and they fit you body but the red one appeals to me more.
